GRADUATION FEVER - EDO Graduation at the Department of Education

In keeping with the graduation season this March 2013, EduPower Publishing held its own graduation ceremonies last March 08 at the Department of Education. It gave out certificates of accomplishment to a select group of DEPED Educators who participated in an English language proficiency program using English Discoveries Online.

The teacher-participants coming from different DEPED divisions undertook a four-week training program (January to February 2013) following a one-day orientation on the use of an online language learning solution last January 14 held at the ACLC-Pasig. Some 32 enthusiastic teacher-participants had the opportunity of experiencing elearning using an online learning tool that can also be effectively used in improving Filipino learners’ English communication skills.

Teachers who grabbed the opportunity to further their learning often times are the best students themselves.  The participants showed very positive responses to the program with eleven teachers achieving 100% completion of the course and more than 50% participation. This group showed passion for teaching and learning and did not hold back from the challenge of using technology. Two dynamic educators, Ms. Audrey Joy Reyes (of DEPED Region 4A-Ladislao Diwa Elementary School) and Ms. Andrea Angeles (of DEPED Region 4A-E. Rodriguez Elementary School),  each received an Outstanding Achievement Certificate for their excellent performance on their respective course works.

After a brief recap on the events leading to the day's culminating activity, Dr. Jocelyn Andaya, Director IV-Bureau of Secondary Education, Ms. Agnes Apostol of EduPower, and Mr. Michael Lahav of Edusoft handed out the certificates to the graduates. Dr. Andaya delivered a special message to the graduates in behalf of the Secretary of the Department of Education, Bro. Armin C. Luistro, FSC, while Mr. Michael Lahav, International Sales Manager of Edusoft, gave a brief message of appreciation to everyone who participated in the program.

EduPower supports teachers whose passion for teaching innovation goes beyond the four walls of the classroom. Teachers who learn to equip themselves to teach the learners of the digital generation are the forerunners of educational change. To the teacher-graduates, congratulations for a job well done!
